Sri Lankan Mung Bean Curry / Green Gram Curry

Ingredients:

  • 1 cup mung bean
  • 1 cup water
  • 1 cup thick coconut milk
  • Finely chopped 3 cloves garlic
  • Finely chopped ½ onion
  • Sliced 2 0r 3 green chilies
  • 1 teaspoon curry powder
  • ½ teaspoon turmeric powder
  • 1 teaspoon chili powder
  • Salt to taste
  • Curry leaves
  • Pandan leaf

Method:

  • Soak mung beans with water over night.
  • Then drain the excess water and add mung beans in to a pan with 1 cup of water.
  • Then boil the mung beans in medium heat.
  • After that drain the boiled water, add other ingredients in to the mung bean pan and cook again in low heat until the coconut milk get bubbles.
  • Remove from the heat.
  • It is ready to serve.
